UPDATE – this is addressed in 11.0.1, now available using the usual update procedure. There’s a couple of reports of catalogs failing to upgrade which is being investigated, but it’s fairly rare.

Of course, new features have been released every few months, rather than having to wait for a single x.0 release. Adobe tend to update the main version number annually around the time of Adobe Max and this year is no exception.

As Lightroom is subscription software, this isn’t a 11.0 in the conventional sense. Lightroom Classic 11.0 has been released today.
